News 7 - 26th November 2005 Since June we have been busy with various events and tasks. We had a stall at the Princess Helena College Christmas Fayre The autumn Trustees meeting agreed donations to Great Ormond Street, Malcolm Sargent House in Prestwick, The Neuroblastoma Society, 2 children's hospices in East Anglia and we are looking at supporting other local groups. Exact donations vary and we are liaising with the organisations to agree where we can best help The long awaited activity cube for Lister Hospital has finally arrived and been handed over.
We are pleased to welcome a new trustee, a family friend to help us. She has taken over some of our publicity work and will be helping to raise awareness of our activities next year.
Helen's parents and sister were able to visit the Malcolm Sargent House in Prestwick during the summer and arranged to purchase some DVD players for the bedrooms.
Our Triathlon entrants again performed very well. Our individual entrant took part in the sprint event in 1 hour 20 minutes and our Sprint Team again came home in under 1 hour 30 minutes. Again a good day was had by all.

Since January we have made the following donations:- Craft materials to the Radiology
Department play room at the Middlesex Hospital. We have also received donations from: An

Since August we have held a further Trustees Meeting and made the following allocations from the funds raised to date: Games to the Children's Unit of Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Welwyn Garden City Cash Donation to The Neuroblastoma Society to aid their research. Donation to pay for Car Seats for the Sargent Cancer Care House in Prestwick. Sent a Hertfordshire family to the Pantomime for Christmas. We are in discussion with two London hospitals and another Hertfordshire Children's ward about further donations.
We are now planning our events for 2005 which include Evening Event in the Autumn Two teams for the Triathlon in July A Christmas Bazaar in November or December. If you would like to offer your support please contact us A great day out was had by the teams and supporters of our London Triathlon teams. While the weather was hot and sunny for the supporters to enjoy, it was perhaps a little too warm for some of the athletes. however, they all acquitted themselves well and finished in the top half of the field for their events. Many have vowed to enter again next year, so we wish them well. Inaugural Trustees Meeting - This was held on 3rd July where the EmeraldWings Logo was formerly adopted. Its first showing was at the quiz night. It will also appear on our T-shirts for the Triathlon. Quiz Night - The formal launch took place on Saturday 3rd July with a Quiz Night for Family and Friends. The evening went well, but it was decided that easier questions were needed for next time!! Helen's Brownie Pack, 16th WGC, completed their Children With Leukaemia Marathon Challenge and we were delighted with their donation. Our thanks go to all Helen's friends and their families. Donations - We are grateful to everyone else who has made donations to us recently. Quiz Night Launch - The formal launch will take place on Saturday 3rd July with a Quiz Night for Family and Friends. For details of ticket availability contact us. London Triathlon - We are grateful to Haymarket Associates for offering to sponsor T-shirts for the team representing us in the London Triathlon. News 1Web Presence Launched12th June 2004 -- Our basic web site has been updated and our formal web presence declared. The site will be updated regularly with news of fundraising efforts being undertaken on our behalf plus our own events. Charity Launched1st June 2004 -- EmeraldWings was formed in memory of Helen, daughter of 2 of the Trustees, who died in October 2003 of Neuroblastoma.
